Illustrated: coloured drawings of alchemical subjects: N10 [f.7v] and N11: [f.8r]. N10: a crowned mermaid pierces Christ with a spear, a naked woman stands between them; to the right is a furnace containing three flasks. N11: Der König und die Königin - a crowned hermaphrodite, with a male head on its right and a female head on its left, carries a sceptre. Rhymed explanations in red & black; some also in Latin. Fifteenth century.
